CMT: Certified Maintenance Technicians

BSTA offers 3 months certification course in varied modules with 6 weeks apprenticeship placement leading to the award of CMT in the following vocation and fields:

  1. Electrical Maintenance & Repairs
  2. Plumbing Maintenance and Repairs
  3. Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Maintenance & Repairs
  4. Appliance Maintenance & Repairs
  5. Painting & Redecoration Maintenance and Repairs
  6. Furniture & Carpentry Maintenance and Repairs

Course modules which are designed to teach and impart necessary hard skills on the students also include the following soft skills to shape them for business – people – job relationship:

  • Legal Responsibilities
  • Risk Management
  • Health and Safety procedure
  • Industrial Essentials
  • Know Your Customer
  • Financial Management
  • Job Finishes and Delivery

CMT Certificate Prerequisites

Candidates must have

  • ¬†Minimum of WASC/NECO/GCE at entry level
  • Complete all the 6 weeks classroom/workshop course modules
  • Complete 6 weeks apprenticeship placement/industry experience
  • Pass CMT exam.

The CMT Certificate have lifetime validity and certificate holders are not required to take continuing education credits or pay designation renewal fees.
